Comparison

How we compare to the other photo-sharing apps

6 other products, side by side with ours, using each company's own published figures rather than anybody's summary of them. We do not win every row and we are not the cheapest — the section near the bottom says plainly where one of these is the better answer.

How we checked

  • Every figure came from the company itself. We read each one on that company's own pricing page on 6 September 2026. Nothing here is copied from a round-up article — the ones we looked at were wrong about more than one product.
  • Several of these pages load their prices with JavaScript. The raw HTML can be months out of date, so each page was opened in a real browser rather than fetched.
  • Only products we could verify end to end are listed. This is deliberately not the whole market, and nothing is here to pad the table.
  • Prices move. If you find one of these has changed, tell us and we will correct it. Every product name links to the page its figures came from, so you never have to take our word for it.

Feature by feature

Checked on 6 September 2026. Everything below was read that day, on the company's own pricing page. These prices change without notice, so treat the date as part of the figure.

“Not published” means we could not find it. 13 cells say that. It does not mean the product lacks the feature — only that the company does not state it on its own site, and writing “no” where somebody has simply not said would be us putting words in their mouth.

Our own column is tinted because it is ours, not because it wins. Most of these rows are answers, not scores.

What we do that most of these do not

Four things, each stated narrowly enough that you can check it against the table above.

Sponsor slides that pay for the event

Sponsor logos rotate between photos on the big screen, weighted so the headline sponsor comes round more often, and the client gets a PDF showing how many times each one was seen — the number you put in front of a sponsor when you ask them again next year. Of everything we checked, one competitor ships something comparable and one more has it marked "coming soon" on its own page. One slide comes with the free plan so you can watch it work before paying for anything.

Approve before anything reaches the screen

Several of these let the host delete a photo after the room has already seen it. Ours can hold every upload until someone clears it, on every tier including free — or run wide open, if that is the event you are running.

Find your own photos with a selfie

Off until the organiser switches it on, consent asked for every search, and the selfie is compared and then discarded rather than stored. One competitor offers this. The rest do not advertise it at all.

Built for the signal at a golf course

Photos queue on the phone and keep retrying for a full hour, crediting back the time spent with no signal at all. If the venue connection drops, the screen keeps playing what it already has instead of going black in front of the room.

Where someone else is the better choice

A comparison page whose author wins every row is an advert. These are the four cases where we would point you at somebody else, and they are the reason the rest of this page is worth believing.

We are not the cheapest, and it is not close

WedUploader is $39 once and covers unlimited albums. Kululu is $39, GuestSnap $45, Pix Wedding and Guestpix $49. We start at $99 for a paid event. If price is the deciding factor, one of those is your answer.

We keep photos for months, not years

GuestSnap keeps an album for 18 months and Pix Wedding for up to two years. Our longest paid tier is 90 days. The zip holds every original at full resolution — but you do have to download it.

You cannot host the photos yourself

WedUploader drops every file straight into your own Google Drive, so there is no retention clock and nothing to lose if the company disappears. We do not offer that, and for some people it is the only thing that matters.

There are genuinely free options

Joy and WedShoots are free, with unlimited photos and full-resolution downloads, both owned by The Knot. Our free tier stops at 100 photos. If a small event is all you need, start there.

Still deciding?

Tell us the event and we will say whether this is the right tool for it — including when the answer is one of the products above.
